See All We Grow At Pennsylvania Farm Show

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Whether you love to garden or you'll never grow a thing in your life, you should go to the Pennsylvania Farm Show. It's going on in Harrisburg at the Farm Show Complex, all this week through Saturday January 11th and admission is free.

If you eat any kind of food whatsoever, come see how it grows! Meet the beautiful cows, pigs, and chickens on display and watch honeybees make their magic.

Gobble up goodies too - from their famous milkshakes; to fried mushrooms and apple fritters, local berries in shakes and funnel cakes, hot potatoes, maple syrup treats, roast beef sandwiches and eggy breakfast burritos - all made with what's grown on some of the 7.7 million acres of Pennsylvania farmland.

Learn new recipes and enjoy the cooking competitions - from breads, cakes, cookies and pies, to jellies and jams (like in the photo); enjoy the sheep-to-shawl shearing, spinning and weaving contest; and even watch tractors square dancing.

Providing a $68 billion dollar economic impact and accounting for 1 in 7 jobs, agriculture is big business in Pennsylvania and important to all of us.
