UPDATE: Police ID Victims Of Cumberland County Crash

VINELAND, N.J., (CBS) – Chopper 3 was over the scene Thursday night as rescue crews responded to an accident in Vineland, Cumberland County. Now, police are identifying the victims.

The accident was first reported around 10:15 p.m. at the 3200 block of North Delsea Drive (Route 47). Witnesses who called 911 say a pickup truck ran off the roadway into the water near a wooded area and someone was screaming for help.

On Friday, police identified the driver of the 2000 Ford F350 as Nicholas P. Sumner, age 33, of Millville, NJ. The passenger was identified as Kyle Kaspar, age 27, of Sassafras Street.

Sumner was pronounced dead at the scene, while Kaspar was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital with serious injuries.

Vineland Police say North Delsea Drive was closed from Forest Grove Road to Weymouth Road.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
