Police Investigate Robberies At 2 Banks Less Than A Mile Apart

DELRAN, N.J. (CBS)--A man allegedly robbed two New Jersey banks today.

The first robbery occurred at the 3rd Federal Bank on Bridgeboro Road.

After robbing the bank, the suspect stole an SUV and fled the scene.

Just minutes later, the Roma Bank on Hartford Road was robbed by the same suspect.

Sources indicate the suspect brandished a handgun.

The two heists are the latest of 22 bank robberies to occur in the county this year, 15 since October 25th.

The stolen SUV has rear damage from backing into another car in the bank parking lot.

Police ask anyone with any information to call 9-1-1.
