Code Blue Extended Through Friday In Burlington And Camden Counties

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Burlington and Camden Counties have extended the Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency through Friday, December 13th due to dropping temperatures.

A Code Blue declaration is made when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. When a Code Blue is enacted, it provides for short-term emergency sheltering.

Individuals can call CONTACT at 856-234-8888 or 866-234-5006 for a list of available shelters and additional Code Blue information.

For general cold weather precautions, the county advises individuals to check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website: http://www.bt.cdc.gov/disasters/winter

In Pennsylvania, Montgomery County issued a "Code Blue" weather advisory, in effect until noon on Friday, December 13th (See Related Story).

Bucks County also activated a Code Blue warning.  The warning is expected to go from Tuesday, December 10th until Friday, December 13th at 7:00 a.m. (See Related Story).
