PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Winter Meetings for Major League Baseball have begun, and reports say that Ruben Amaro Jr. is shopping a Phillies 2013 All-Star.
Yahoo’s Jeff Passan reports that the Phillies are “actively shopping” outfielder Domonic Brown. “Looking for controllable starting pitching in return. Idea is to sell high on him,” Passan said (via Twitter).
94WIP’s Howard Eskin reported on the 94WIP Morning Show two weeks ago that the Phillies were looking to deal Brown, because they do not believe he can repeat his 2012 performance.
Brown had a career season in 2013, hitting .272 with 27 home runs and 83 RBIs in 139 games, with an OPS of .818.
