Weather Blog: Icy Conditions Continue

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After a heavy snow band set up around I-95, dropping 5-12" of snow Sunday, a break in the precipitation is occurring in the evening.

Another round of moisture returns later Sunday night. Stubborn cold air remains in place allowing for a periods of sleet and freezing rain, before changing over to all rain overnight. This transition will occur slowly from south to north.

Some light ice accumulations are possible around the city, with up to a .10" of ice accumulation in the far NW suburbs, Lehigh Valley and Poconos.

Temperatures will slowly rise through the 30s overnight. By Monday morning, expect rain over most locations with some linger freezing rain possible in the Leigh valley and Poconos.

A Winter Weather Advisory continues for the region into early Monday morning for sleet and freezing rain.

Slow travel will continue overnight into early Monday morning.
