PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — American Theater Arts for Youth presents “Cinderella” at the Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater December 18th and 19th, with two shows each day.

Listen to the podcast below…

Laurie Wagman

Founder Laurie Wagman says Cinderella was the first show ATAFY put on more than 40 years ago.

“Over the years, we figure over a million-and-a-half kids have come to see this production of ‘Cinderella,’” Wagman adds.

And, Wagman says, the kids in the audience really get into the fairytale spirit.

“The girls come in Cinderella costumes with glass-slash-plastic slippers, and crowns and wands.”

But the real magic lies in the story.

“Cindy is filled with hope and imagination, and the best part of all, wishes that come true,” she says.
