Detectives Investigate 3 Alleged Sexual Assaults At Newark-Area Motels

NEWARK, Del. (CBS)-- Detectives are investigating three incidents in which women may have been assaulted after arranging online to meet men at two Newark-area motels.

Investigators believe the incidents, which took place on October 4th and November 27th at the Red Roof Inn on Stanton Christiana Road and on October 17th at the Days Inn on Churchmans Road, may be related.

A female arranged to meet a man in a motel in each occurrence. In at least two of the incidents, the women had advertised in the escorts section of backpage.com, a classifieds website.

In each incident, a few minutes after the man entered the motel room a second man arrived.

Both men displayed knives and then allegedly sexually assaulted the women.

Detectives have developed similar suspect descriptions in each occurrence.

The victims have reportedly not been completely cooperative and detectives have been unable to thoroughly investigate each alleged assault. However, investigations are ongoing.

The first suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6'1" tall, 25-40 years old, short hair, average build.

The second suspect has a light complexion with freckles, 20-30 years old, approximately 5'9" tall, small to average build with small tattoos on his arms.

If anyone has any information in reference to these incidents, they are asked to contact the Troop 2 Major Crimes Unit at 302-834-2630.
