Blog: Philly Offers Tax Break To Active Military

By Jim Donovan: There is still time for active military members to apply for the 2013 Real Estate Tax Credit for Active Duty Reserve and National Guard program offered by the Philadelphia Department of Revenue. The program provides a tax credit for members called to active duty outside Pennsylvania.

To be eligible, applicants must own the property and use it as their primary residence and also be able to provide documented proof of military days served in 2012.

To apply for the program, residents can visit the Revenue Department's website at www.phila.gov/revenue for an application or visit the Department of Revenue at Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd., Concourse level.

The Real Estate Tax Credit for Active Duty Reserve and National Guard is one of several tax assistance programs available to Philadelphia residents. For more information on these programs visit the website at www.phila.gov/revenue or call 215-686-6442.
