Police Investigating Del. Home Invasion Find Significant Amount Of Drugs Inside Residence

TALLEYVILLE, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware investigating an attempted home invasion found the homeowner in possession of a significant amount of drugs.

Police say that on Sunday around 6:55 p.m., they responded to the 300 block of Brandywine Boulevard for reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, they learned that three unknown suspects armed with handguns had attempted to rob the homeowner, 39-year-old Arthur Kelly.

During the incident, Kelly sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Assisting officers and canine teams on the scene found 40 pounds of marijuana, 96 doses of LSD and 20 amphetamine pills inside Kelly's residence.

Kelly was treated at Christiana Hospital and released. He was then transported to county headquarters and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of LSD, possession of amphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia before being committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institute after failing to post $31,000 bail.

Police continue to search for the suspects, described as a black female between 20-30 years old who was wearing a black ski cap and two black males armed with handguns. One of the men is said to be 20-30 years old as well.
