Pets Get A Photo Op With 'Santa Paws'

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Santa Claus is coming to Penn Vet, and the public is invited to bring pets to get their pictures taken with him.

The pet photo with Santa Claus costs $10, and the money raised goes to support cancer research at the veterinary hospital.

Penn Vet is located at 3900 spruce Street in University City. Santa is available for pictures from noon until 2pm on Wednesday, December 4th.

"It will help immensely, and we will have the money earmarked specifically for cancer research here at Penn Vet," said Dr. Erika Krick, assistant professor of oncology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

"We will have a photographer, one of the team members from Dolly's Pet Sitting Services will be taking the photos using a tripod and a very high quality camera. And it's a digital camera and I believe all of the photos can be emailed to you."

Penn Vet is one of only three veterinary comprehensive cancer care centers in the nation.
