Many Shoppers Consider Black Friday The Peak Of The Year

By Cleve Bryan

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS)--If you love to shop until you drop Black Friday is highlight of the year.

Black Friday shopper Alicia Lutzky says, "Well of course as usual it's crazy, it's wild, everybody is pushing and shoving but everybody is happy."

Whether shopping for yourself or others, those willing to brave the crowds found deep discounts.

David Collins skipped Black Friday last year.

"Last year I didn't go, year before that I went crazy. This year I'm kind of lenient, got to make it to Christmas."

For employees at "Roster," making a hectic day fun was about good music and encouragement from their energetic boss.

Before it's all said and done, the store will have been open for more than 24 hours straight.

Roster's Regional Manager Tate Perazzelli says, "Yeah we opened at 10 last night and we'll be closing when the last customer leaves, we don't close until their done."

This year many shoppers took advantage of pre-Black Friday sales which are growing in popularity.

Cyber Monday also promises to offer more deals.

Suzanne Goldstein says, "The free shipping and just the good deals, it's what we're all about."

For many of the shoppers the best gift of all is spending time together with family and friends.

"It's kind of fun cause it's like a family outing. We have lunch, shop."
