LOVE Park Once Again Transforms Into Annual Christmas Village
By Cherri Gregg
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - For the sixth year, the Christmas Village will bring holiday music and shopping to LOVE Park in Center City beginning on Thanksgiving Day.
The cozy, colorful Christmas Village presents a little German tradition to the city of Brotherly Love and from gingerbread to bratwurst, you can just smell the holidays.
Organizer Maren Durrschmid says more than 60 vendors are signed up to bring an intimate and unique shopping experience:
"We are trying to have a variety of ornaments, of candy, of scarves -- all that stuff."
On Saturday, the village will get a special visit from Christkind.
"She's the official Christmas Angel. She'll be passing out candies," Durrschmid explains.
Of course, there's a special ornament for Philadelphia which Bruce Chaffin of Katie Wolfart says was a big hit last year:
"It's a heart that says on it in gold glitter 'Greetings from Philadelphia'."
