Pa. State Police To Target Unsafe Drivers Over Thanksgiving Holiday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Pennsylvania State Police have announced a targeted enforcement period over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Troop K, which overseas areas of Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties; has announced that it will be making additional efforts to ensure motorist safety between Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Sunday, Dec. 1.

The safety measures include two sobriety checkpoints in the area.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is a notorious for bar-goers. Additionally, Troop K says it investigated 108 crashes – 13 alcohol-related – over the 2012 Thanksgiving holiday.
