PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man was hit in the head with a hammer during a robbery Friday afternoon.

It happened at about 2:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of Pulaski Avenue in Wayne Junction.

Police say the suspect robbed the man of an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

The victim was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center.  There is no word on his condition.

There is no description of the suspect at this time.

There incident remains under investigation.
