Towson Edges Temple 75-69

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Jerrelle Benimon scored 32 points and Towson came from behind for a 75-69 win over Temple on Thursday night.

The Tigers (3-0) faced a 53-45 deficit midway through the second half before a 12-3 run, led by seven points from Benimon, gave Towson its first lead of the half at 57-56.

The Owls (1-2) regained the lead but Timajh Parker-Rivera's three-point play on a put back gave the Tigers a 62-60 lead. Towson extended its lead to six before Temple responded and Anthony Lee's basket with 14 seconds left brought the Owls to within 71-69. But Towson hit 4-of-4 free throws in the final 14 seconds to preserve the win.

Benimon's scoring total was a career high to go along with 10 rebounds. Marcus Damas added 16 points and 10 boards.

Lee led Temple with 20 points. Will Cummings scored 18 and Quenton DeCosey had 12.
