EGG HARBOR Twp. N.J. (CBS)–The Egg Harbor Township Fire Department is on the scene of a sewage spillage on the Garden State Parkway.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority reports the sewage spilled from a dump truck on the southbound side just north of the interchange with the Atlantic City Expressway.

The right lane of the Garden State Parkway is now closed while crews work to clean up the mess.

Maintenance crews for the Turnpike Authority have cleaned up the sewage, but the right lane remains inaccessible.

NJ State Police say 500 yard of sludge was originally on the roadway and traffic was being directed to the left lane.

The incident was reported around noon.

Soon after, a car accident was reported, according to State Police.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and several people reported minor injuries.
