NJ University Offering Class On 'Bruce Springsteen's Theology'
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (CBS) – One New Jersey university is offering a course that truly rocks.
According to its website, Rutgers University in New Brunswick is offering a seminar called "Bruce Springsteen's Theology."
The course is listed under the category of Jewish Studies, and is described as taking "a theologically oriented approach to Bruce Springsteen's lyrics."
"We will focus on Springsteen's reinterpretation of biblical motifs, the possibility of redemption by earthly means (women, cars, music), and his interweaving of secular and sacred elements," the course description reads.
No word on what The Boss himself thinks of the class, but it's likely the proud Jersey native would approve of it being taught at "The State University of New Jersey."
