New Traffic Patterns On Route 70 Friday Night Due To Construction

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (CBS) -- NJDOT has notified Camden County officials that a new traffic pattern is scheduled for Friday night on the Route 70 westbound bridge over Route 38 in Pennsauken as bridge deck replacement operations enter the next stage of construction.

"The construction will shift to the center of the bridge, requiring the closure of the middle lane.  The lanes to either side of the work zone will remain open to traffic," said Freeholder Ian Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works.  "Motorists need to be aware of the new traffic pattern and drive with caution through the area."

Officials advise drivers destined for the Browning Road/Marlton Pike ramp to stay in the right lane as they approach the bridge to be able to access the exit ramp.

Officials say the project is anticipated for completion with all three travel lanes restored this winter.  The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
