UPDATE: Singer Does Not Own Cherry Hill's Plastic-wrapped Mansion

CHERRY HILL, NJ (CBS) – A popular 80's singer does not own the Cherry Hill mansion wrapped in plastic, as previously reported.

Last month, Eyewitness News reported a story about a mansion in Cherry Hill that is wrapped in plastic. At the time, Cherry Hill Township officials told Eyewitness News the owner of the house is singer Deniece Williams.

Since Eyewitness News aired the story, a representative of the singer contacted Eyewitness News to say that the singer does not own the home and that this is a case of mistaken identity.

A statement released by the mayor's office Monday says in part:

"We provided information based on representations that the property owner made to township personnel...it appears that this was an unfortunate case of mistaken identity, and we apologize for any confusion caused by the mistake."
