Some Voting Issues Already Cropping Up In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As voters head to the polls on Election Day, polling problems were already being reported in Philadelphia.

In Somerton, where DA candidate Daniel Alvarez popped in to vote, there were voting machine problems, forcing voters to wait for about 45 minutes before casting their ballot.

Even Alvarez had to wait to vote, but he was eventually able to around 8 a.m., when the machines were fixed.

Officials aren't sure what caused the problem.

Monday afternoon, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said they received eight calls about election problems since polls opened at 7 a.m. including two electioneering complaints, one interfering conduct complaint, one machines complaint, one improper conduct complaint, and three others.
