Bicycle Coalition Offering Free Lights And Installation To Philadelphia Cyclists

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – With darkness descending an hour earlier thanks to the end of Daylight Savings time, bicyclists heading out in the late afternoon might be traveling in the dark.

Not only is it dangerous, but riding a bike in Philadelphia without, at the very least, a front white light and a back red reflector is also illegal.

On Monday, the Greater Philadelphia Bicycle Coalition was helping out cyclists by giving out free bike lights and light installations along Broad Street at Spruce and Pine.

Riders can stop by between 4:30 and 6 p.m. for a complimentary light and installation. Just be aware that those who already have lights and those who don't show up on a bike will not be eligible for the offer.
