More Charges For Man Accused Of Impregnating South Jersey Girl

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) — A registered sex offender who allegedly impregnated a 12-year-old southern New Jersey girl is now facing more charges.

Joseph Anthony Caracciolo, whose most recent address was in New York City, faces aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment charges in an indictment handed up this week by an Atlantic County grand jury. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison.

The indictment comes just weeks after federal prosecutors said the 47-year-old Caracciolo would be charged with traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of illicit sex with a minor. That case is pending.

Caracciolo was arrested Aug. 28 in New York City. He allegedly traveled between New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania to sexually assault the victim, who is now 13.
