South Street Salon Hosts Zombie-Themed Fundraiser To Celebrate 25th Anniversary
By Mark Abrams
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A South Steet salon is taken over on this Halloween by "zombies," armed with razors, scissors and clippers.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Chop Shop in the 500 block of South Street, owner Kathy Thomas decided to make it a fun event for her staff and patrons and a fundraiser.
"We're celebrating Zombies and we're cutting for UNICEF," Thomas said.
"So, are you going to give them the zombie look as well?" Abrams asked.
"If they want. We can do that. Whatever you want, we can handle," Thomas said.
Kikki Moon and the Zombie Boys are playing on the sidewalk, attracting attention and customers.
And why zombies? Thomas says it's all for fun.
"Why not? This is South Street, we should do lots of zombies on South Street, right?" Thomas said.
