Police Investigate An Alleged Attempted Child Abduction In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—On October 18th at about 3:20 p.m., a child was allegedly approached while walking down the 3100 block of Chatham Street.

She was walking with approximately 12 other children and two counselors to her aftercare program. There was a counselor in the front of the group and a counselor in the back.

A male walking down the street allgedly approached the child, grabbed her arm and said, "You're coming with me."

The counselor in the back intervened and told him not to touch the child and she would not be going with him. The male then released the girl's arm and walked away.

The program's director was notified of the incident. A couple of days later the suspect was seen again, but he did not approach anyone.

A bulletin was released to parents in the 24th District.

Philadelphia Detectives believe the alleged suspect may be dealing with some mental health issues.
