PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The stage adaptation of “Flashdance – The Musical,” is coming to the Academy of Music on November 19th to the 24th.

But Matt Wolf, the director of Broadway Philadelphia, says, “This is not just the ‘Flashdance’ of the early 80s.”
“There are 16 brand new songs that were written for this musical, so it has ‘Maniac,’ it has ‘Manhunt,’ it has ‘I Love Rock and Roll’ and ‘What a Feeling,’ and at the same time, what they did was they converted this into a real musical with original music that helps drive the story forward,” Wolf adds.
He says that classic scene where the star gets doused with water and the spectacular finale will all be performed live, on-stage.
