More First-Time Parents Start Taking 'Babymoons'

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Some expecting couples are taking so-called "babymoon" vacations.

It's a vacation a couple takes while pregnant, before their first child arrives.

Barbara Curie with Just to Travel in King of Prussia says a pregnant woman is usually allowed to fly until her third trimester.

"I have sent people away that have said that they're pregnant and will you check with the airlines to make sure they're okay to fly and we always call because the airlines don't have any restrictions on them so they can always change their policies without warning," Curie said.

There are a plethora of places to travel on a babymoon.

Curie says, "I would typically think that they're gonna go for something that's probably more adults-only, and there are pelnty of adult-only properties these days, not so much in the Unites States but definitely in the Caribbean."

Curie goes on to say, "If they're pregnant, even if they're just recently pregnant one, two, or three months, you always want to get your doctor's opinion about where you're doing before you put down the money, because most things are nonrefundable."
