Governor Chris Christie Releases Medical Report

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, as promised, has released a report from his doctor on his medical history.

The two-page letter from his cardiologist says the 51-year-old Christie has no medical limitations and is "fit to serve as governor."

The doctor says Christie has had a history of hypertension for the past two years and asthma for the last 30 years. But the doctor says both conditions are well-controlled uner his current medical regimen.

The doctor notes Christie has taken steps to deal with being overweight, including undergoing weight-loss surgery and exercising four days a week for an hour at a time.

The report does not give his weight, however.

Christie is running for a second term. The election is Nov. 5.

He's also a potential candidate for president in 2016.
