Police Make Arrest In Pa. Turnpike Crash

By Diana Rocco

FEASTERVILLE, Pa., (CBS) -- Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County.

Holly Alsentzer, of Flourtown, cuffed and walked into the Feasterville Court House. The 27-year-old is charged with leaving the scene of an accident that nearly killed a family of four and left a mother and her seven-year-old daughter in serious condition.

"We have witnesses that viewed the car beforehand and afterhand at the high rate of speed," Bucks County Deputy District Attorney Matthew Hover said.

Sunday night, police were called to this scene on I-276 (see previous story).  Witnesses saw Alsentzer driving erratically westbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Upper Southampton, weaving in and out of traffic, up 90 miles an hour when she allegedly rear-ended a family of four, police say pushing the Land Rover they were driving over the guard rail. Police say it rolled 60 feet down an embankment multiple times. Alsentzer allegedly took off. When a witness tried to follow, he couldn't keep up.

Her attorney spoke on her behalf.

"She wanted me to express that she is very distraught and her thoughts are with other individuals that were in the accident, and for their health and well-being, and she hopes that everybody gets well very soon," Alsentzer's Attorney Sean Gresh said.

Police say Alsentzer called the next day to turn herself in and brought police to the black Jeep Grand Cherokee she was driving. She's now facing multiple felonies and a minimum of 90 days in jail.
