Rain Forces Cancellations, Postponements Of Area Events

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The rainy weather moving through the Philadelphia area has forced the cancellation of a number of events.

Due to weather conditions, Sea Isle City’s 2013 Italian Festival and Columbus Day Parade on October 12 has been postponed until Saturday, October 26. Also down the shore, the West Cape May Christmas Parade Fundraiser at the Chalfonte and the Avalon Seafood Festival have been postponed, as well as the Lima Bean Festival, which has been delayed until Sunday (though CapeMay.com’s Facebook page says it may be moved to Monday).

Closer to the city, The Newtown Square Pennsylvania Railroad Museum has rescheduled Newtown Square Railroad Day, originally set for Saturday, Oct. 12, to Saturday, Oct. 19.

And in NJ, the Before the Bridge Music Festival indoors to “The Factory” at 13 Fern Avenue, only 5 blocks down Haddon Avenue.

The rain is expected to remain in the area until Monday.
