UPDATE: 5 Children Injured In North Philadelphia School Bus Accident

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—According to police, at about 8:15 a.m. Friday morning a school bus and another vehicle collided at 20th and Dauphin Streets in North Philadelphia.

According to a police report, the driver of the car disregarded a stop sign and crashed into the school bus carrying 18 children.

After the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot but the front seat passenger remained trapped in the car.

Five of the children on the bus, ranging in age from 6 to 12 years old, were transported to St. Christopher's Hospital. They are all listed in stable condition.

The bus driver and the passenger from the other vehicle were transported to Temple Hospital and are also in stable condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
