PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – In the background of this budget battle crisis is a revolt that is underway by moderate Republicans in the house.

The mini-revolt is by eight Republican members of the U.S. House, including four from our area: Pat Meehan of Delaware County, Mike Fitzpatrick of Bucks County, John Runyan of South Jersey and Charlie Dent from the Lehigh Valley.

What they want is very simple — what they call a “clean bill” to refund the government and open the U.S. government right away without conditions, like the ones imposed by the House majority delaying Obamacare for a year.

Now, the big questions is will this movement grow? Already there are eight other congressman apparently on the fence, including Republican Frank LoBiondo of South Jersey.

The next 24 hours could tell.
