Police In Delaware County Searching For Suspect Who Slashed Woman Across Face

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – Police say a woman was slashed across the face in Delaware County on Monday.

The attack happened at South Fairview Road and Walter Street in Crum Lynne around 10:51 a.m. A 57-year-old woman was reportedly walking in the area when a man jumped out of the bushes and asked her for cigarettes. When the woman didn’t give him any, the suspect pulled a box cutter and began swinging, slashing her across the face.

The man fled the scene and was last spotted running north on Fairview Road towards the railroad tracks. Police released a sketch of the suspect on Tuesday.

The woman was taken to Taylor Hospital, where she is still being treated.
