Police Shoot Suspect After Physical Confrontation At Home In York County

HANOVER, Pa. (AP) — State police say a man was shot while authorities were attempting to serve warrants at a central Pennsylvania home.

Police in York County said troopers and members of a drug task force went to the Hanover home at about 6:30 p.m. Monday to serve two warrants and another man got into a physical confrontation with a trooper.

A state police spokesman said the trooper was struck in the head and body multiple times and taken to the ground several times, and to stop the assault he shot the suspect in the chest.

Police said the man was flown to York Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. He was arrested on a parole violation and the officers, who arrested the two people wanted on warrants, sustained injuries described as "minor to moderate."
