Robertson Leads Villanova To 35-6 Win Over Stony Brook

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) — John Robertson had 259 total yards and accounted for two touchdowns and Villanova defeated Stony Brook 35-6 Saturday.

The Wildcats (1-2, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) scored on three consecutive drives to open the second quarter. Robertson threw to Clay Horne for a 43-yard touchdown, and then rushed for a 2-yard TD to put the Wildcats up 21-0 at half.

Robertson was 9 of 12 for 140 yards, and rushed 20 times for 119 yards.

Stony Brook (1-2, 1-1) had just two offensive series in the second quarter.

The Wildcats concluded a 28-point run when Joe Sarnese recovered a fumble and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown midway through the third quarter.

Lyle Negron led the Seawolves to their only score, a 4-yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Eugene at 5:45 to play in the fourth quarter. Negron was 23 of 33 for 279 yards, and added 30 rushing yards.
