PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man is in critical condition after the car he was driving rear-ended a SEPTA bus late Monday night.
The crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of Front Street in the city’s Juniata section.
According to investigators, a SEPTA bus was stopped at a red light when it was violently rear-ended by a Chevrolet Impala.
When officers arrived, they found the driver of the Impala, a 24-year-old male, unconscious behind the wheel.
Officers removed the unidentified victim from the car and he was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition.
Ten passengers who were aboard the SEPTA bus at the time of the crash were not injured. The 48-year-old driver of the SEPTA bus was taken to Temple Hospital with neck and back pain.
The exact cause of the crash remains under police investigation.
