Flyers Fall To Maple Leafs 4-3 in Preseason Opener

LONDON, Ontario (AP) — Nazem Kadri and Mason Raymond both had a goal and an assist for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who opened their preseason schedule with a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night.

Toronto jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period in a span of 3:05.

Kadri scored first, and Troy Bodie doubled the Maple Leafs' lead against goalie Steve Mason. Raymond made it 3-0.

Philadelphia rebounded quickly with a goal from Doug Clarkson in the first, and tallies by Brayden Schenn and Nick Cousins early in the second to tie it.

Paul Ranger put Toronto ahead to stay 4-3 when he scored against goalie Anthony Stolarz, converting a rebound on a give-and-go effort by Kadri and David Broll in the second.

James Reimer stopped 14 of 17 Flyers shots that he faced. Mason made 12 saves on 15 Maple Leafs attempts.
