PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - You don’t have to wait for Saturday’s show to get to know this years Miss America’s contestants. They have taken over the social networks with behind the scene pictures and videos of the events leading up to the pageant day.

The contestants of this year’s Miss America pageant have taken to social media to give friends and followers a taste of pageant life and Atlantic City.

“The sharing of the behind the scene photos is really the most popular thing we do throughout the week,” Miss America Social Media Manager Heather Lauer said. “And after each preliminary competition, we shoot a short video with Sam Haskell our chairman and a former Miss America and the two preliminary winners from that night. They do a short little interview segment with them.”

The Miss America Organization and its contestants are active on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram and Tout. This year you can vote for a finalist to become America’s Choice.

“Each of the contestants creates their own three-minute video answering the question why they think they should be the next Miss America and whichever contest get the most votes will be one of the semifinalists the night of the pageant”

The Miss America Pageant takes place Sunday, September 15th at 9 pm.
