Straw Purchaser Pleads Guilty To Buying Guns For 16-Year-Old

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)— A Philadelphia man admitted in court on Wednesday to buying numerous guns for a teenager.

Luke Dercole, 32, has pleaded guilty to four Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.

Dercole, who had been out on bail for a few months, immediately had his bail revoked pending sentencing.

Judge Trent stated to the defendant, "Giving a gun to a 16-year-old is incomprehensible."

District Attorney Seth Williams had announced Dercole's arrest back in February when an investigation revealed that one of the guns Dercole bought for the teenager was allegedly used to shoot another young man.

Once interviewed by police, Dercole admitted to buying the guns for the 16-year-old in exchange for packages of heroin.

Dercole is facing a maximum of 14 years in prison when he is sentenced on October 28th.
