Instagram Hits Milestone Growth In Users

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Instagram, the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app, announced that it has grown to more than 150 million users capturing and sharing moments every month.
In February, Instagram reached the 100 million monthly active-users milestone and in just seven months, it has added 50 million more.
"Whether it's documenting protests in Egypt, sharing the trip of a lifetime across the United States or snapping #petselfiez, this community continues to surprise us every day with your creativity, sense of adventure and unique perspectives on the world," Instagram said in a statement announcing the new statistics.
Nearly half of Instagram's users are Android users and 60 percent of them reside outside of the United States.
So what's next for Instagram? All signs point to advertising. But, we'll have to wait and see.
