Chef Delivers Dinners Out Of His Kitchen And Into Your Dining Room

DOWNINGTOWN (CBS) -- One chef who owns two West Chester area restaurants is providing meals to customers even if they live miles from his restaurant.
He is delivering home cooked meals but this is more then just a business move, it's a labor of love.
Chef John Brandt-Lee owns Avalon Restaurant in West Chester and Avalon Bistro in Downingtown and he explains why he started.
"The idea was social interaction! I understand if you can't cook or don't have time to cook, but this gives you the opportunity to have a home cooked meal and sit down with the family and eat which we do not see enough of. I want people in my restaurant. I want people dining out. But I want to see people dining out maybe once or twice a week and still cooking at home and not getting fast or processed food the other days."
Brandt-Lee personally delivers the meals all made from scratch to the door, which are vacuum sealed and placed in a special bag to keep it cold.
Right now, deliveries are within a limited radius but he certainly wants to expand.
Five percent of what is sold goes into a fund which Brandt-Lee uses to feed area families who are struggling to put food on the table.
