Local Non-Profit Works To Get People Involved In Fight Against Hunger
By Cherri Gregg
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- September is National Hunger Action Month and Philabundance has created 30 ways for people to get involved.
"Hunger Action Month is about giving people the choice to get engaged in the fight against hunger," says spokesperson Marlo Delsordo.
Delsordo says Philabundance has a calendar of events filled with opportunities for everyone to help change hunger statistics, like donating fresh fruits and veggies through Share the Harvest or by volunteering and more.
"You can hold a food drive," he says. "You can do something as simple as making a paper plate and putting on it why you think fighting hunger is important."
The public can also attend the non-profit's third annual Hunger Symposium on September 17th. Or simply donate.
"One dollar provides two meals for people," Delsordo says.
