Camden County Man Indicted In Attack On Siblings That Left 6-Year-Old Dead

By Robin Culverwell

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Camden County man has been indicted on murder, aggravated sexual assault, and other offenses on charges he murdered a six-year-old boy a year ago and tried to assault the boy's 12-year-old sister (see previous story).

Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk said Wednesday that 32-year-old Osvaldo Rivera will remain jailed on charges he attacked the children in their home on September 2nd of last year.

Authorities say he was trying to assault the 12-year-old girl when her six-year-old brother intervened and tried to protect her. They say Rivera then killed the boy, and though the girl's throat had been slashed, she was able to run to a neighbor's home for help.  She did survive.

Rivera has also been indicted on charges he assaulted a two-year-old Camden boy in a separate attack.
