Pedestrian Critically Injured In West Philadelphia Hit-And-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An unidentified female pedestrian was struck by a hit-run driver around 3 a.m. Sunday near 48th Street and Osage Avenue in West Philadelphia.
Police say they responded to a report of a female lying unconscious on the highway.
The 23-year-old victim was taken in critical condition to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with severe head injuries and broken bones consistent with an auto accident.
Police have not determined the description of the striking vehicle and are searching the area for surveillance cameras and possible witnesses.
