1 Dead In Franklinville, New Jersey Crash

FRANKLINVILLE, N.J. (CBS)
-- A driver lost control of his car around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and crashed into a tree along Stanton Avenue near Chew Ave in Franklinville, Gloucester County.

The car was split in half and the driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say that driver has been identified as 51-year-old Keith Ray of Franklinville.

Police believe the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and narrowly missed two people who were walking in the area.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
