Delaware County Softball Coach Accused Of Having Sex With A Minor
WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) – A Delaware County softball coach has been arrested and accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor.
Authorities say 27-year-old Lana Trotter, a softball coach at Delaware County Christina School (DCCS) on Main Road in Newtown Square, allegedly had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
According to the affidavit, the parents of the minor found out about the relationship after reading inappropriate text messages on their daughter's cell phone.
When questioned, the minor admitted that she and Trotter had been sexually active for a "few years" while the two were at DCCS.
The girl's parents then reported the relationship to police.
Trotter is now charged with "institutional sexual assault" and corruption of a minor. She was arraigned and released after posting 10 percent of her $50,000 bail.
