PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police are investigating the “brutal” and “very personal” murder of a teenager in Northeast Philadelphia Monday.

The body of 19-year-old Daquan Crump was found at a construction site in 10000 block of Northeast Avenue in the Somerton section of the city at about 7 a.m.

According to investigators, the body was found by workers arriving for work, who then called 911.

Philadelphia Police Homicide Captain James Clark said Crump was shot nearly a dozen times in the face and head. Clark called the murder brutal and “very, very personal.”

Clark said Crump worked at a nearby Wendy’s fast food restaurant and was last seen leaving work around 11 p.m. Saturday.

According to Clark, Crump did not have any prior police record.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911.

The investigation is ongoing.
