Philadelphia Man Arrested With Gun Inside Wilmington Home

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Wilmington police say a Philadelphia man prohibited from possessing a firearm surrendered after firing several shots inside a home.

Police say 33-year-old Hassan Muhammad entered a home on Mendendall Court around 4 a.m. Sunday and threatened a man inside.

He allegedly fired into a closet containing a hot water heater, causing the home and a neighboring apartment to flood. Police say Muhammad then tried to kick at officers who took him into custody.

Police say he's prohibited from possessing a firearm because of felony drug and weapon convictions.

He's being held at Wilmington police headquarters pending arraignment on charges including aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

No telephone listing could immediately be found for Muhammad.
