PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –The FBI raided the Philadelphia Sheriff’s office Thursday morning.
The Sheriff’s office confirms the FBI arrived at the department office at 100 S. Broad with a search warrant and subpoena for certain records and files, as part of an ongoing investigation begun in the previous administrations.
Sources say that the sealed warrants are related to the office’s dealings in real estate.
No one was taken into custody.
Sources say boxes of files and paperwork were removed.
The Sheriff’s office spokesperson said in a statement:
“The agents were given the full cooperation of the Office of the Sheriff of Philadelphia City and County.
Because of the nature of the ongoing investigation there will be no further comments at this time.”
