Widow Of Delaware Court Gunman Waives Extradition

DOVER, Del. (AP) — The widow of a man who killed their former daughter-in-law and another woman at a Delaware courthouse has waived extradition in Texas and will be brought to Delaware to face charges related to the shooting.

Sixty-eight-year-old Lenore Matusiewicz made an initial appearance Wednesday in federal court in Texas. A hearing for her daughter, Amy Gonzalez, was postponed until Friday, when an attorney will be appointed for her.

Matusiewicz and Gonzalez are the mother and sister of former Delaware optometrist David Matusiewicz. All three were indicted last week on charges of conspiracy and stalking involving his ex-wife, Christine Belford.

Matusiewicz's father, Thomas, fatally shot Belford and her friend, Laura Mulford, in February before killing himself.

The elder Matusiewicz's family members have denied knowing that he intended to kill Belford.
